Caroline Léonardelli - Classical Harpist CD Release Concert - Impressions de France

Caroline LeonardelliHarpist Caroline Léonardelli will be performing compositions from her new solo recording and her first since her 2010 JUNO Award nominated release El Dorado.  This is a special pre-release premiere concert.  The recording “Impressions de France” will be available at the concert but will not yet be available at stores or on line download from her worldwide distributor NAXOS.

After the success of her first solo recording El Dorado Caroline wanted her next project to add to the standard repertoire for the instrument.  With a mid career award from the Canada Council of the Arts Caroline selected and prepared the program in conjunction with Kathleen Bride at the Eastman School of Music.  The intention was to recreate a harp recital that would have been performed by the first wave of masters of the instrument in Paris France in the 1920s.  These recitals were dramatic, bold, and full of energy.  Composers incldue Saint-Saëns, Ibert, Büsser, and Grandjany.
